Picture this: a 71-year-old cowboy with decades of farm wisdom, sitting at a kitchen table, spinning stories about quirky animals who act more human than you’d expect. Across from him? Me — a children’s author determined to make family drama both funny and heartfelt.

That’s how The Ginnie West Adventures grew beyond a single voice. When I first began, I never planned to bring a horse whisperer into the mix. But his understanding of animal behavior and a lifetime of dust, saddles, and down-to-earth truths added a layer of humor and heart that readers fell in love with.

Of course, this collaboration didn’t come out of nowhere. My own life — from fostering over 100 kids to enduring personal loss — made me determined to write stories that empower children facing tough realities. But what surprised me most was how much adults embraced the series too. Parents share them with their kids, teachers and librarians recommend them in classrooms, and my most loyal fans are women who read for themselves.
